Research projects supported by the Fund include:
The Dashboard of Economic Indicators research answers two important questions:
- How is Northeast Ohio’s economy performing compared to other U.S. regions?
- What are the common characteristics of high-growth regions?
The Fund supports the Barometer of Economic Attitudes, a survey designed to measure the public’s perception of the region’s general economic progress, as well as opinions on regionalism and economic development initiatives.
he Fund contributed $90,000 to an examination of the feasibility of tax revenue sharing and other regional collaborations that would increase efficiency, stimulate economic development and limit sprawl. The Northeast Ohio Mayor and City Managers Association oversees the study and members of the association have contributed more than $50,000 to the study.
The Fund contributed $100,000 to a research project that will measure the costs of government to the typical citizen of Northeast Ohio compared to analogous regions with fewer governments per capita or more substantive forms of government collaboration. The study should be completed early in 2008. Other contributors to this study are the Greater Cleveland Partnership, the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber, and the Samuel H. and Maria Miller Foundation.
