Grantmaking

Since 2004, philanthropy has united in Northeast Ohio to raise more than $55 million to strengthen the region’s economic competitiveness.

The Fund has awarded more than $32 million in charitable grants to organizations and initiatives that are working to build a brighter future for the region. (Download a graphic that illustrates the Fund's grantmaking and fundraising.)

The grants fall into three general categories:

Economic Development Organizations – Operating grants to nonprofits that focus on specific issues related to strengthening the region’s economic competitiveness.

Structural Change and Design – Planning and research grants that help the region redesign the way it addresses fundamental issues related to economic competitiveness.

Research and Measurement – Grants that measure the region’s economic performance and increase awareness and support for regional economic development initiatives.
